“Be grateful for luck. Pay the thunder no mind – listen to the birds. And don’t hate nobody.”
Yesterday was a wonderful day, sunny, dry and breezy. Today is back to that ugly humidity, but the paper claims we’ll be dry by Monday. A cold front is on the way. Thunder showers are a possibility tonight and tomorrow. I hope so.
The addition to my deck is finished. Without furniture, it looks like a bit like a dance floor. I’m going out today for a few planters and to start checking out furniture. That end of the deck will the living room.
This morning has been a delight. I got up early, grabbed the papers, made coffee and sat outside. In between the papers, I filled my new hummingbird feeders. I have this one hummingbird that drops by periodically and tries to get nectar from my tulip solar light. I felt bad for the bird so I bought a small feeder for the planter where the light is and a larger feeder for the trees. I also filled the oriole feeder with grape jelly. Finally, I cleaned and filled the bird bath. I then had another cup of coffee, read the Cape Times, did all the puzzles and sat for a bit watching the birds. The crow was here as it is every day. It always sits on a huge branch not so far from me. I like to watch it even though it does nothing. It is a beautiful bird. Finally, I took my outside shower then came inside to the computer.
The best of all days doesn’t need to be much. I think it just needs to leave me contented, happy with my world. I seem to have a lot of those days. I think myself quite lucky.

The day started out real nice with a rainfall and just enough warm. Then the temperature dropped down to 54F! Not nice at all but it was perfect to take a walk with my dogs. It was so cold that most flies kept calm 🙂
Crows are really beautiful to be honest, but our crows looks a bit different than Yours. The same bird but with different colors. They are black and greyishbrown. Intelligent birds and when in captivity they easily learns to talk. I had a smaller relative to it once (an europen Jackdaw) and it was the funniest and most evil bird I´ve ever had the pleassure to meet 🙂 🙂
Have a great day now!
Here´s a link to Google photo´s that shows our crows:

Christer,
I’d love the temperature to drop to the 50’s. It is just too warm here. Supposedly next week will be cooler. I hope so.
You’re right about our crows, related but not the same. I look forward every day to the visit of my crow. He sits so majestically in the tree watching me.

You are lucky. We be sitting here waiting out Hurricane Bonnie. We are fearful she might get up some speed and pull oil out from the Gulf as she makes landfall in New Orleans. We have very heavy rains right now, (glad I cleaned my gutters last weekend) it’s pouring down and I can barely see the woods in front of my house. It is suppose to come in rings through tomorrow. Glad you are happy up there in New England.

Z&Me,
We have been lucky for a long while as we haven’t had a hurricane in years. The tale ends, the rain, hit us, but we miss the brunt of the storms.
I hope all stayed well with you yesterday.

splendid.
I thought you might already be on vacation, but I guess you were busy getting ready and packing.
I hope that’s the only rain you see, and the days will be bright, sunny and lovely.
Have a wonderful vacation.
