“Blessed be the Lord for the beauty of summer and spring, for the air, the water, the verdure, and the song of birds.”
I couldn’t bear to go inside so I hauled my laptop to the deck. Let me tell you why. The morning is beautiful, sunny and warm with a breeze which stirs the wind chimes. The air is filled with the aroma of basil. It grows in the deck boxes behind me, in a perfect spot to catch the breeze. The morning isn’t quiet. I hear a motor from far off, maybe a hedge clipper. The water from the deck fountain is loud, bubbling from the top. I can hear birds alighting on the feeders hanging off the trees beside me. Chickadees never go far with their hauls, and I can hear them peck their sunflowers seeds from nearby branches. Gracie is playing with her friend Cody from down the street. He comes right to my front door when let outside and even barks to come in. They are growling and jumping on each other. Every now and then they stop when they’re tired, drink from my fountain, rest a bit then start again. The sky has a few puffy white clouds. The one I can see from here looks likes the head and raised arms of the Abominable Snow Monster from Rudolph. Butterflies go by and a few bees stop at the flowers hanging off the house. The sun is hot so I’m under the shade of the umbrella. The day is already amazing.
When I finish here, I’m taking my outside shower. So far, that’s my only plan for the day.

93,6 as hotest here today. But a strong breeze has fooled us a bit, making it feel a bit cooler. Clouds has come and gone all day, but those comming in now is building up to become thunderclouds. If thunder starts it will be a storm to remember I´m afraid 🙂
It´s still to hot to take a walk, birds are quiet and even the flies eemes tired 🙂 But I know they´ll all waiting for us close to the forest. They´ll be so many that not even my mosquitoe hat would feel strong enough 🙂 🙂
Tonight I´ll sleep in my living room on the bottom floor. Upstairs will be to hot.
By the way, can You give me the adress to Your other blog? I can´t find it any more. I had it in my old computor.
Have a great day now!

Christer,
Today is muggier than yesterday, but there is an ocean breeze keeping the deck cooler. From today on each day and night will be getting hotter.
I never even went off the deck yesterday. It was just too lovely a place to leave.
My bedroom is on the third floor and gets far too hot for sleeping so I have an air-conditioner there. Before I bought it, I used to sleep down here on the couch.

A perfect Michigan morning – I was slumped casually in my robe on the patio reading the NYT and WSJ…wandered in around 10 to see (that cheat maradona and “his”) argentina team get pounded.
Had to retrieve Maggie from our new neighbors – two beautiful King Charles spaniel puppies have arrived and its more than she could stand.

My Dear Hedley,
I did not watch any of the action yesterday, but I did check out the results in the paper. My last watched game was Ghana’s.
Maggie will have her way. Cats always do!

Maggie is TRULY insulted – being a Westie which totally is NOT a cat 🙂

It’s a lazy day here too. We are going to a pool party in an hour at Rebecca’s, then cookout tomorrow here at my house. Lots of kids again. I think they will go to the Village to watch the fireworks on the Indian River. Ann and I will stay home. We hated to fight the traffic last year. I’m probably the only one in town who has to work Monday.

Z&Me,
I was most decidedly lazy all day. I took my shower outside, ate lunch and dinner there on the deck and read most of the day. I consider it a day well spent.
Today will be a barbecue at friends’.

We are in the middle of a cold snap on the southern side of the globe. Been the longest cold spell for 7 years or so. I think the drought has finally broken (lol).
Enjoy it for all its worth Kat.
Fondest regards
Pete

Pete,
Sometimes, in the middle of August, I dream of a cold spell.
I’m considering a permanent move to the deck!
I love every day!

OMG, My Dear Hedley,
Please beg forgiveness from me. I know she is not a cat!! I have no idea why it slipped my mind. I most heartedly apologize to the lovely Maggie.
