“He ain’t got laid in a month of Sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin’ my undies
He ain’t too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like it’s oxygen
He’s my baby
And I’m his honey
Never gonna let him go”
The John Prine lyrics that John posted (from one of my favorite JP songs!) were, I believe, written for the Billie Bob Thornton movie “Daddy and Them,” in which Prine “stars” alongside Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, Billie Bob, Andy Griffith, etc. I tried watching the movie after seeing Prine in concert here in my town just a couple of months ago, but the film is so bad I stopped less than halfway through.
Yes, the movie really is that bad despite a talented cast. The genre is “redneck comedy,” and unless you like laughing at tiresome situations involving alcohol abuse, domestic violence, criminality, and misogamy, you’ll be, um, disappointed. Save your Netflix dollars for *Sweet Dreams,* *The Rose,* or *Walk the Line.*

So do I, John, and I think I’ve posted most of them, but it was on the blog formerly known as Coffee. I’ll have to post them here too.

Fred,
Nope, you didn’t hit any of my favorites with those descriptions. I’ll just bypass it!
