I once asked Mr L why it was that he wrote such optimistic songs and he said to me (I remember it well) that “Life is far too short to do anything except enjoy every day as it happens”. He wrote this song for his son and it was one of those that inspired him to put together the children’s album ‘HMS Donovan’ – a much maligned and misunderstood album

That is just the answer I expected. His songs are filled with a joy. This one is such a delight.
I don’t know anything about that album, but I’m going looking.
