I think your buddies at Peter, Paul and Mary made this famous. But this is a rare treat as I never heard this rendition before. Can’t think how I missed it. I was a disc jockey in Arlington, Virginia for five years.
Hi Kat
Ian & Sylvia released it first, on the May ’65 “Early Morning Rain” lp. PP&M followed several weeks later on “See What Tomorrow Brings”. Lightfoot himself recorded it in 66.
J,
Thanks for this. I knew it was PP&M I heard first, but I didn’t know that Ian and Sylvia had preceded them. I can’t imagine why Lightfoot let this get away from him recording it first.

I believe this is a Gordon Lightfoot song covered by Ian and Sylvia but am to rushed to look it up. I love this song – by anyone!

Cuidado,
That I know without checking-you are correct. It is a great Lightfoot song.

I haven’t heard Ian and Sylvia in so long. I went to iTunes and downloaded this album. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Z&Me,
PP&M were the first I heard too but I think Ian and Sylvia were not all that far behind, a couple of years maybe.
