There’s a Meetin’ Here Tonight: Joe and Eddie

It's obscure music day!

Because I knew nothing about either group, everything is a quote from somewhere.

"Joe & Eddie were one of the more successful gospel/folk groups to perform in the '60s. They enjoyed a healthy run of albums throughout the decade, ending their career with a "best-of" retrospective in 1967 while they were still hot."

Great group. I remember seeing them on Hootenanny, back when “folk” music was prime time and top 40. Looking back, it seems like a golden time in pop music.

      Michal,
I remember being glued to Hootenanny every week but I just didn’t remember these guys. There they were just sitting in my files waiting to be heard.

I have no idea where I found the song.

    Kat,
Was there another version of this??

I seem to remember there was ’cause the names Joe & Eddie don’t ring a bell

    Pete,
There have been several. A while back on the other Coffee I played this by the Limeliters. Glenn Yarbrough is another who’s sung it. I have to figure a lot more but these two come to mind first.
