“Poor, dear, silly Spring, preparing her annual surprise!”

The sun arrived late this morning. It brought blue skies but not a lot of warmth. It’s a sweatshirt day. I’ll be out and about for a bit later as I have a long list of errands I’ve been saving for one swoop. I might even take a ride afterwards. It seems like a perfect day to meander.

The neighborhood is abuzz of activity. The warmer weather brings all the snow birds back from sunnier climes. The neighbor who lives behind me is here. Earlier in the week he cut down the huge oak tree which had been there since long before his house was built. For the last three days I’ve heard the hum of his saw as he cuts the pieces down to size. The neighbors beside me are here for the weekend. They are weatherproofing their deck. Across the street, Herb and Joanne are back from Florida where they’ve been since early February. Yesterday I saw Herb out cleaning his yard of winter debris. Soon enough he’ll be mowing his lawn. The quiet of wintertime is gone for now.

Gracie spends more and more of her day outside. She lies in the sun in the back of the yard or on the deck lounge when she’s seeking a bit of creature comfort. I know that feeling and can barely wait until every day is sunny, until every day is warm. The furniture is uncovered, candles are hanging off the tree branches, the debris from winter winds has been cleared off the deck and the storage bins are gone. Everything is ready for deck days and for dinners in the warmth of the evening and the glow of candlelight.

The sun left early this morning over here. It barly started to warm up the air, then it dissapered behind the clouds and the cold winds from north entered. It has not been the nicest of days, that´s for sure.

But they have started to spread manure on the fields here and that´s a sure sign of spring 🙂 🙂
    Have a great day now!

We still have a few snow birds here from Boston and New York. I met a teacher couple yesterday who sold their house up there in 05 right at the height of the bubble and sat on their assets till last month when they found a bank forclosure here, direct ocean, for a mere $400,000. They paid cash! They are also putting on an addition to their daughters house just outside Boston, through the summer, and will live there six months out of the year. Most of the snow birds I know from up north and mid west are already gone. The Philadelphia crowd leaves first every year for some reason. I think they start pulling out of town in February. Never understood that maybe they hope to see one last snow fall. Enjoy your day Kat, the weather sounds wonderful up there. Here too!

    Z&Me,
All of my friends who are snowbirds have returned. April seems to be the magic time for their heading back north.

They are returning in the middle of lovely weather. We are ahead of the usual spring seasonal start by a couple of weeks.

I’m about to take off now and enjoy the day.

    Well Kat,

With warmer weather on the way, it’s time to dust off the bikini and grab your surfboard. Pictures please.

To warm the cockles, visit here http://soundscountry.com/blog/ and listen to a track from Jakob Dylan’s new CD (produced by T Bone Burnett & a cut from the 2 Dixie Chick sisters soon to be relaesed

      Pete,
Still a bit chilly for a bikini! It’s cold today, still sweatshirt weather.

I hadn’t heard Jakob in a long while and was expecting more of his father-glad he’s found his own sound, one I like! I found the drums an interesting accompaniment.
      Thanks!!!!!!!
