     It’s a social messaging system which allows one to broadcast intimate ‘happenings’ to all and sundry, or specifically to the people who choose to ‘follow’ you; provided you can reveal all in 140 characters. It’s a bit narcissistic; you are really interested in minute-by-minute details about Ashton Kucher’s life?
