“Colors speak all languages.”

Every day I wake up and ask Alexa the time and the weather. Sometimes I get up while other times I just roll over and fall back to sleep. Today was a rollover day.

My list of chores is short. I need to fill the bird feeders, clean my little library and water my house plants. No cozies today as I have to go to the grocery store for cream and eggs, and I’ll stop at Agway, might as well while I’m out. I’ll pick up some fall plants and gourds for the front steps. With color disappearing, I want fall plants to brighten my little world for a bit, to keep the drab at bay and to stave off winter for as long as possible.

My ballot came yesterday. I was so very excited and tore open the envelope just to look. I’ll fill it out and mail it back tomorrow.

Henry stayed away from after I yelled at him. He was barking at the front door for what seemed like hours. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I yelled and told him to stop. I think I yelled a couple of times. Henry ran upstairs, his safe spot. I went to pat him and he wouldn’t come downstairs. I sweetly talked to him, but he stayed at the top of the stairs. Finally, I asked him if he wanted a biscuit. He came right downstairs to me.

When I was a kid, I never paid much attention to what was happening beyond my little town. My father got the paper every day, but I didn’t read it beyond the comics. The only use I had for newspapers back then was to make paper mâché. My mother would make the glue, the flour and water glue, and I’d slather strips of newspaper with it and begin my artistic endeavors. I made a puppet head once. The best part was the nose.

I would have loved to just rolled over and go back to sleep but both dogs are already aware of me waking up that it is impossible. Albin starts to howl and continues to do so until I get up and Nova has no problems what so ever to step on my head just to make sure I’ll get up 🙂 🙂

Very windy and now very rainy here. Not as bad as predicted perhaps but I doubt that any plant will looik sad because it can’t find any water 🙂

Bertil is back! I opened the door to let Albin outside when Bertil ran in high speed to the kitchen and the food 🙂 He did want to go outside right after that but by then the rain has started to pour down so he went back in and fell saleep 🙂 I do wonder what he’s been up to!

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Hi Christer,
Henry doesn’t seem to mind. He stays with me and falls back to sleep when I do. He has great kidneys.

It was a bit chilly today but still sunny. It was in the mid 60’s. I did go out but for only a short while.

HOORAY!!!!!!!I wonder if someone took him in or if he found a good spot to relax. The poor baby must have been really hungry after his wild days. I suspect he is exhausted.

      Enjoy your day!

    Hi Kat,

Another gorgeous sunny day. Because of the beautiful weather and mild temperature, my daughter and I picked up a couple of In-N-out burgers and fries. We are sitting in the shade in a park having a picnic. I’m still amazed how many people were in line waiting for their orders without wearing masks. All the people working were masked and standing behind plexiglass shields. Now that the idiot who lives in the White House is hospitalized for Covid-19 you would think his followers would start wearing masks. In his case, stupid is as stupid does. 🙂

Our idiot Republican governor ordered that each county can only have one drop tooff location for mail in ballots. Harris County which includes Houston is larger and more congested than the State of Rhode Island. I think the Republicans are running scared that Texas might go Democratic since the early 1990s. We are just going to vote early which starts on October 13th.

We are going exploring the area again and listen to broadway musicals on the iPhone. I got her interested in good music.

      Hi Bob,
Getting your daughter interested in good music is the gift which keeps on giving. Music soothes the soul.

We don’t have In-N-out burgers here. We have the convention: McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s. I prefer Wendy’s.

I read about your idiotic governor. I agree the Republicans are running scared. Early voting is definitely the way to go. I have my ballot. It came in the mail yesterday.

Exploring is such great fun, especially if it includes lunch.

Here’s a belated birthday present for Hedley… and a great song for one and all.

Piggy banks made of paper mâché were quite popular back then. A balloon and an egg carton for feet, mouth and ears wrapped up with papermâché. Also selfmade balloon lanterns for St. Martin’s Day. I hope that kids can walk on the streets with their lanterns as every year in November but I don’t think so.

      Birgit,
I love my paper mâché pinada. I decorated it with crepe paper and even made fringe. That is about as creative as I get.

If you’re looking for a rabbit hole to fall into and spend some time, the place I found the Pet video turns out to be one of the best I’ve seen. The clarity of the videos and the quality of the sound is some of the best I’ve seen. Interesting mix of music, too. Set an alarm because you might lose track of time watching Smurfstools Oldies Music Time Machine.

      im6,
That’s just what I need, another place to spend hours. I went and took a look. Yup, I could get lost!!

      Thanks!
