“Perfect sanity is a myth propagated by straitjacket salesmen.”

Yesterday wasn’t my best day even though I did get a few things done. I figure I have some sort of a syndrome: the I’m stuck at home and have had no human contact syndrome. My poor sister is getting my calls. I tell her silly things sometimes just to talk. I call friends. I get robocalls, disembodied voices. I never answer though I’m tempted.

Yesterday, I cleaned the bathroom and then went out and cleaned my little library. I took away a couple of books, added some, cleaned each remaining book cover and left envelopes inside the library, each with a pair of latex gloves. It was so great being outside I went to the deck next and cleaned bins and barbecue tools.

I went up to bed around 3:30 after watching part of The Stand. I went into the cats’ room to spend time with Gwen, clean their dishes and give them fresh food. I went to the bathroom to get the kitties fresh water. That’s when it happened. My new bath mat is anti skid. It works. My slipper hit the rug and stayed while the rest of me went down. The stuff I was carrying flew out of my arms. My knees hit the rug but my cheek hit the tile floor. I howled more than once. It hurt. Poor Jack was bewildered so he meowed over and over. Henry just there looking. I finally got up and finished with the water then went to feed the kitties. By the time I turned off the light in my bedroom, not long after the slide, I could feel the lump above my cheek. This morning I noticed the bruise under my eye. It will be a black eye.

I saw a picture of the new Space Corps flag. The silver object in the middle looks just like the communicator Star Trek personnel wear on their uniforms.

I am going out today. I didn’t yesterday. I chose to clean. What a silly choice.

    Dear Bochum Belle
I tried to watch and it just didn’t work, so I went back to power washing everything in sight. So no Bundesliga but I do have a very clean garage and pathways

Hedley, a good decision, enjoy the sun (if possible) and your clean pathways 🙂
I didn’t try to watch or listen though I liked the outcome but it’s meaningless anyway.

    Hi Kat,

I really don’t understand why we need another branch of the military. The Air Force usually handles space issues and I’m Sure the secretary of the Air Force is thrilled that his budget is being cut to support this useless service. The Defense budget is fought over annually by the other branches of service and by adding another branch only exasperates the budget process for a service whose job is still undefined.

How many bathrooms do you have? We have two plus a powder room and keeping them all clean with four adults in the house is a big job.

Today was sunny with temperatures in the 80s.

      Hi Bob,
This is Trump at his worst. Remember when he wanted the giant parade of the military, tanks and such like he had seen in, I think, France. The cost finally went public and people were outraged-no parade.

We can’t even get to the moon. We lack the program, the physicists, the equipment and the expertise.

I have a powder room down here and a full bath upstairs. Tag team and each team can clean a bathroom.

      Sunny and 59˚ today.

I think the military parade is still on. Every dictator loves showing off their toys. 🙂

I think it was cancelled, but then he’ll do the West Point Commencement on June 13 (I think) after all the graduates are forced back to West Point.

Phew, I’m glad you are not seriously injured and I hope your face and eye gets well soon.
It was a sunny day again, no rain (what’s rain?), perfect for a long bike ride along the river and over the hills. We saw lots of old and young Canada geese and Egyptian geese at the river, they came a few decades ago and stayed.
Unfortunately we lost a tit nest in our fir today, it was sad to see that a magpie found and destroyed it.

      Birgit,
My right eye socket is black and blue. I’m so glad my glasses cover it as the eye is ugly, and it might have drawn attention.

I don’t think I have ever heard of Egyptian geese.

We have had lovely days. They would, of course, show up when I’m stuck in the house. This weekend was sunny and warmish. I went to the dump then to get a few groceries. I felt triumphant.

    Marie,
I deleted your comment and my response. I blame the cat who walked ac ross the keyboard, but I do have your comment in my e-mail so I can comment back.

My eye is really ugly. The whole socket is black and blue. Jack and Henry were worried when I stayed on the floor a while. The swelling is almost gone.

This week began my I can’t take it any more attitude. Yesterday I did drive for a while and put miles on the car for the first time in a while. I loved my ride.

I haven’t seen Dolls. One day a week TCM shows science fiction or horror. Most are old so I love them. I just went hunting for this and my stupid remote didn’t hear Dolls, but heard Jaws. I will hunt it down as I need a diversion.

Think of the lockdown as expanding your taste!
