“She refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn’t boring.”

Alexa tells me today will be cloudy. I knew that. I looked out the window. It is currently 44˚. Last night it rained. The air is still. I woke up late though I went to bed early for me, 12:30. Doing nothing is exhausting.

All nonessential businesses in Massachusetts are closed. Grocery stores, of course, are still open for pick-up and delivery. Liquor stores are still open. They are considered grocery stores. Only medicinal marijuana is being sold, not recreational. Probably a mistake.

I am a lazy sort. I used to need excuses as to why I didn’t vacuum or make the bed. Not any more. I choose the dust. I choose the unruly bed and the pile of dirty clothes. I choose my books.

Two of my dafs are in full bloom and four more are very close. Their yellow is so bright in the garden I stopped for a bit this morning on my way back inside with the papers hoping to inhale that color, to keep it close in my memory drawers.

When I do crossword puzzles, I am taken aback sometimes with the clues in the difficult puzzles. Those clues are my childhood. I have answered hula hoops, Howdy Doody, Mickey Mouse Club and The Beatles. Who, I stridently asked aloud, doesn’t know The Beatles. Henry didn’t even stir. He is used to my outbursts.

Today Nancy Pelosi said about something being Pollyannaerish, her word, not mine. I thought about the film Pollyanna, the reference I have for this word. I remembered Haley Mills, Jane Wyman, the orphans and prisms. I wondered at what age Pollyanna becomes simply a name, not a definition. I know what Nancy Pelosi is saying. I saw the movie.

I have lights on. They are comforting on days like today. I’m watching old movies, happy endings mostly. I even watched a Hallmark Christmas movie. I have no shame.

I watch news shows with correspondents broadcasting from home. I like to check out what I can see of their rooms. One MSNBC correspondent was in a room covered with palm frond wallpaper, or I think it was wallpaper. It could have been painted. Either way it isn’t my taste. I like the Jimmy’s: Fallon and Kimmel. They have short films from their houses. Jimmy Fallon has a neat slide from one room down to another. I liked his rooms. I liked Formal Friday which had been touted by Jimmy Kimmel. At his house, all the Kimmels are just fine, dressed fit for a fancy restaurant. I liked that too.

As for me, I’m hanging in. I have lots of stuff to keep me busy.

The only ne thing here is that bars and restaurants now aren’t allowed to serve anyone who isn’t sitting by a table, no serving at the bar.

Sunny and rather warm here today and the warmth will stay for a while but the sun might be blocked by clouds every now and again. I can’t see it at work anyway so I don’t mind. I wish the warm weather would stay long though.

The Jimmy’s are great. Can’t see them on any channel here though but that’s why we have the internet 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Hi Christer,
Here, only take- out food, even for restaurants which haven’t had take-out before this.

The sun has struggled to come out this late afternoon. It is warmish. At least it hasn’t rained all day.

I hav been watching them on YouTube as they are filming from home.

      Take care!

I am multitasking, conference calls with my team and I am deep cleaning. An all out assault on my study, demolished and reassembled. The afternoons are quieter, a walk around the block, a book, words with friends, cell phone and Bruce.

    Stay safe

      My Dear Hedley,
I lollygag the mornings then busy the afternoons. I water plants, dust tables and clean the kitchen. Sometimes, though, I do very little. I watered the plants yesterday and cleaned the counter and that was all; however, I am close to the I vow to do my laundry stage. I hate it.

Your comment on The Beatles reminded me of a time that I was listening to the radio in 1977. A teenager was talking on the air with the DJ and didn’t know who The Beatles were. Both my mouth & the DJ’s dropped. Then the kid said “Wait, weren’t they Paul McCartney’s old back-up band?”. The DJ said that he never felt so old in his life.

Like Massachusetts, where I Live in California, only medicinal marijuana is allowed to be sold; however, the dispensaries are using an honor system and not checking people for their medical IDs. Since my wife tends to be a little hyperactive, I’m grateful that this resource is available when she needs to mellow out.

    Be Safe Everyone!

      Mark,
Wow, I too would have felt old, and it was only 1977. In 2020, no doubt about it. I am old.

I believe for many people recreational marijuana is their medicinal marijuana. They just didn’t get a doctor’s card and sort of self-medicate. I’m glad your wife’s medicinal is recognized as necessary.

    “hoping to inhale that color”

    Yes.

    Hi Kat,

Yet another day of working from home. 🙁 Today our Commander in Chief wants to disregard expert advice and get everyone back to normal by Easter. His only real accomplishment has been not killing the economy that was saved by President Obama. He doesn’t care about the lives that will be lost but only his re-election bid. 🙁

Today was beautiful with clear skies and a high around 85 degrees.

      Hi Bob,
No sun here today. It stayed in the mid-40’s. I stayed home. Working from home won’t be over all that soon.

I saw the clip of him touting an ending by Easter and the inspiration of filled churches special Easter services. It tells us how little he knows about this virus.
