Coming from New York I never saw beaches where you were allowed to drive. Then I drove on the beach at South Padre Island or watched people drive on Daytona Beach in Florida. Back in the 1950s NASCAR got its start by racing souped up rum runner’s American cars on the beach at Daytona Florida.

There are four wheel drive beaches on the cape. All you need is a sticker from the town hall. The cars are parked at night and you can see the fires. It is pretty.
