Hard Nose the Highway sat very unfortunately between two of the truly great Van Morrison albums St Dominics Preview and the live album Its Too Late To Stop Now. As such it is somewhat neglected and unloved.
I was working as a bank clerk in London in 74 when my friend Phil came strolling in with ITLTSN under his arm. His brother worked A&R for WEA and “sold” albums at very attractive prices. you have to buy this insisted Phil and relived me of 2.50 pounds for the double record. He was right, a masterpiece and still played (in CD form now) to this day and I was totally on the Van Morrison train.
We have rain and ice in Detroit, the Prince has not been invited to the Super Bowl but might be hanging this weekend
My Dear Hedley,
I don’t know either album. I know songs, but not where they’re from in Van Morrison’s discography. You are my go-to guy when it comes to artists and their albums. You never fail me!
I don’t remember what Van Morrison song made me a fan. I wish I had your memory. No, more than memory I wish I had your familiarity with artists and their music.
