Those days she sings about in the first stanzas
were the same when I was young. We didn’t have any worries back then, “We sang and danced forever and a day,” but the years rushed by and, “We lost our starry notions on the way.”
I was at the Thorndike theatre in Leatherhead and Mary walked in. The audience just stopped…yes I did get an autograph which is carefully taped in to an autograph book

It’s interesting that we remember our past fondly and pine to return to them. However, non of us really wants to re-live those days.
