EC has to be one of the most frustrating artists that i have seen live. Goodness knows how many times I have seen him but it was very rare that he cut loose and really pushed. The set lists never changed from city to city…Do “Gotta get better in a little while” I yelled..how dya know that said the guy in front….well
The Showtime documentary “Eric Clapton Life in 12 Bars” is blindingly depressing as EC staggered from heroin addiction to alcohol.
When Eric disappeared for a while, the viaducts around London were daubed with EC is God.
Just once I saw Eric really rip it up. I love Eric Clapton.
My Dear Hedley,
I have never seen EC in concert. I rely on his albums and like individual songs rather than whole albums. I’m not amazed that his life has been blindly depressing. He even projects that feeling when he sings.
I didn’t know that you love Eric, but I’mm not surprised.
