“What a LOSER!”

Last night was downright cold. By ten o’clock it was 38˚. I had started to feel the cold so I turned on the heat for one cycle. Cat1, whom I am guessing is the male and will henceforth be known as Jack, fell asleep on the couch, in Henry’s usual spot. He snored again. Henry didn’t mind his spot being borrowed because he played with his new toy, a cloth squeaky toy with orange hair. It is dressed in a blue suit and sports a red tie. I keep finding strands of orange hair on the floor.

The house was only 60˚ when I woke up. I didn’t want to get out of bed, but I forced myself. My first cup of coffee made getting up a bit worthwhile.

When I was a kid, I used to bring my books to school and hide them inside my text books. I never got caught. I used to get A’s in silent reading. The nuns must have thought I had wonderful concentration and was totally involved in reading my geography book. It was really Little Women.

I have put my sandals away and brought down a pair of shoes, a black pair so I can wear them with just about everything. My favorite winter shoes are my wool clogs, and I have three or four pairs in different colors, but I keep those upstairs and make day to day choices. I think I like the green the best.

Henry naps upstairs on my bed. I guess he prefers the quiet. Jack naps on the couch, the back of the couch, in front of the dog door and on the table. He likes to lie under the lamp when it is lit and beside me on the couch. Cats do like warmth.

Tonight is game night. Last week I had to wear the L for loser. I didn’t win a single game of anything. I am out for vengeance. It will be no holds barred.

Feels like we’re going to have frost again tonight, can’t say I’m looking forward to scrape ice from the car windows 🙂 🙂 The radiators have been turned on for quite some time now and I guess they will stay like that until spring arrives again.

I was thinking of using my boots for the first time this autumn but I didn’t because it was dry outside but I’m pretty sure I’ll soon have to. It will be a bit warmer again later the coming week but I guess that won’t last long.

All dogs are outside for the last time today and it looks like the cats wants to go outside as well. It is only I who think it is too cold 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

    Hi Kat,
It was only 58º in my house this morning. I turned the heat on for one cycle but the house never got above 60. Outside was warmer but the sun disappeared late morning. Finally I got tired of the house being colder than outside and raised the thermostat. It’s fine now. I’ll turn it back down again. I’m wearing layers. Sigh.

Rocky and Piki Dog nap beside me on the couch. When I say “beside”, I mean glued to either side of me. It’s fine now when I want the extra body heat they give off. Summer, not so much. They’re bugging me for dinner, now.
    Enjoy the evening.

      Hi Caryn,
I turned off my heat as it heated the house quickly. I even took off my sweatshirt. I think tonight it will probably need to go on again. The nights will only get colder as we go into more of October.

Henry curls up on the corner, but Jack is right beside me. I hate it when he leaves as he takes his body heat with him. He is pretty comfortable now. I think Jack has adapted well.

I fed Henry then started on my food for tonight. Nothing came out the way I hoped, but even messy tastes good.

      Have a warm evening!

    Hi Kat,

I only own two pairs of shoes. A black pair of Rockport cap toe oxfords for work and a pair of white New Balance athletic shoes for evenings and days off. Basically one pair for business casual and the other pair for everything else. I refuse to get “dressed up”. I have disposed of all my ties, suits or sport jackets and wear either long sleeve light blue uniform shirts or dark blue uniform golf shirts for work. For other occasions I wear other colored golf shirts with either shorts or jeans. The suit and tie hopefully will slowly go the way of the bussell into the trash bin of useless apparel. Even the politicians, except for Trump, go one stump in business casual attire.

I’m not a big game player and therefore never lose. 🙂

Mid nineties temperature with clear skies again today with morning lows in the mid seventies. The real harberger of autumn is the low temperature in the early morning.

      Hi Bob,
I don’t get dressed up either unless it is for a special event. My clogs are about the warmest, most comfortable shoes I have. I like their colors as I match them with my shirts. Mostly I wear pants and shirts, flannel shirts and corduroy pants this time of year.

All of the Trump cohorts do wear ties. I expect they don’t choose to buck the fashion trend set by their leader. I laugh at what is considered casual. For many it is a suit, white shirt and no tie. The younger generation wears casual shirts and jeans. Nobody seems to care.

Temperature in the 60’s is mostly what our days will have now as they have to bounce back from the cold nights. I expect a frost soon.

Orange hair, red tie … Nice dog toy 🙂
Have fun (and maybe a win?) tonight!

It is a great dog toy although the poor toy has lost some of its hair. I’m thinking a comb-over might be in order.

      Thanks on tonight.
