“A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition.”

Today is cloudy and dark though the sun did make a short appearance earlier. That gives me hope. The wind is so strong even the topmost branches bend a bit. It is 64˚, almost sweatshirt weather but definitely a long sleeve shirt sort of day.

It is dump day. It may also be laundry day as I am feeling a bit guilty about the load of laundry still leaning against the cellar door. I have a short list for the grocery store. Yesterday I finished the watermelon and I’m hankering for more. I’d also like some corn.

Everything is quiet in my neighborhood. Not even a dog is barking. Next door has new renters. I haven’t heard them yet, but it isn’t deck weather so they’ve been inside. I think this may be the last week for renters with Labor Day coming next weekend, the sort of end to the tourist season.

My sleep pattern needs to be adjusted. I stay awake until 2 or even 3. Mostly I read or watch a movie, but once I get to bed, I do sleep eight hours. That means I’m waking up around ten.

I hate commercials and not just because they interrupt what I am watching but also because they are often silly. I wonder who said great idea for many of them. They should be ashamed.

Last night I had key lime yogurt. It was lick the jar delicious, but I let Henry have the last licks. He eats anything I give him. Sometimes, though, I’d like to know what he thinks of the varied tastes and if he has any favorites.

I am in the mood for chocolate.

    Hi Kat,

Who says you have to abide by any schedule. My unemployed 22 year old son goes to bed at 0630 and awakens at 1500 or later. He like you has no responsibilities to be anywhere at a particular time. I wonder if he thinks he’s a vampire. 🙂 You’re retired you can do what you want, he’s just lazy. Unfortunately, he wants to live off my retirement savings until his dream job comes knocking on the front door. 🙁

I also hate commercials but we aren’t throwing coins in the TV. Unfortunately, since the advent of cable we are throwing dollars at the cable companies and we still have the damn commercials. Advertisers know that people enjoy the funny ones like the ones during the Super Bowl, but the stupid annoying ones stick in our brains when we go shopping. 🙂

I had to return a pair of shoes I bought to Amazon because they didn’t fit. I took them to Kohl’s department store where they have an Amazon return counter in all their locations. Besides being easy I got a 25% off coupon to use at Kohl’s in the next 7 days. I guess Kohl’s decided if they can’t beat Amazon, they might as well join them for their returns and get you into the store. 🙂

It’s partly sunny with a forecast high of 98 degrees. I can’t believe that you would need a sweatshirt or long sleeves in 64 degree temperatures. Around my condo only the 85 and older crowd walk their dogs with jackets or sweaters in 64 degree heat. 🙂 I think 64 degrees is still shorts and tee shirt comfortable.

      Bob,
I just hate to waste so much of the morning. This time of year mornings are usually lovely. I guess it doesn’t really matter in the long run as I do get things done regardless of the time of day.

I watch movies for most of the summer. When programs are first run, I like to DVR many programs then I can jump right pass the commercials.

I didn’t know about Kohl’s. There is one in Hyannis so I’ll have to check. I haven’t had to return anything to Amazon as I haven’t bought shoes or clothes there. I buy from particular stores so the sizes are usually right.

64˚ today was cold and chilly. The sky was cloudy, there was a huge breeze and it was damp. The weatherman would say tit felt like the 50’s.

Corn sounds good. Hm—going to the market.

    Hi Kat,
Your sleep patterns seem fine to me. I’m just staying in today. I was supposed to go to a play, till I found it was 3 hours long. Ouch. I bought some chocolate the other day, but I’ve only eaten one bar. Now you’ve made me hungry for the other bar.
    Take care,
    Love, Cookie and the gang

      Hi Lori,
I like mornings and have been missing them. I can even smell the ocean some mornings.

I went to a different place other than the grocery store so I didn’t get any chocolate. I will tomorrow and now I’ll get a bar!

      Have a wonderful Monday!!

Yesterday was quite nice because of a cool wind blowing. Today is hot with no wind at all but it is kind of nice to do nothing at all to be honest 🙂

They tried to rent out this cottage before I bought it, especially to Germans who wanted to look at the cranes but they forgot that the Germans had their huge mobile homes 🙂 My luck I guess 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Christer,
Today was a nicer day when the sun was shining. When the clouds rolled in, the day got a bit chilly. I just had to shut my front door as a cold wind was coming through.

It was your luck to be able to have purchased your cottage. I would agree that crane gawkers would prefer a more mobile home.

      Enjoy your evening!
