  1. Bob Cohen Says:

    WOW! Another great song.

All of these were played 50 years ago on the last day of Woodstock. I had so many to choose from.

  2. Rowen Says:

I wondered if I really needed to see this one again, but it’s still exhilarating.

  3. Idle Mind Says:

If I’m not mistaken (and I often AM 🙂 ), from the PBS “Woodstock” documentary, Cocker was the very FIRST act to play the festival, so this is one of the songs that got things rolling. If you haven’t seen the doc, I really, really recommend it. It’s not a concert film, but all about how it almost didn’t happen and what it took to get it going and keep it going. Maybe you can watch at this link.

      Idle Mind,
I haven’t seen it so thanks for the link. It will be on my tomorrow’s list of events!!

Check Mark’s comment. He is correct that it was Richie Havens at 5:07.

  4. Mark Says:

I just read an article where Richie Havens said that he was the opening act for Woodstock and was performing while they were finishing the construction of the stage.

  5. Idle Mind Says:

You are both absolutely correct. I’ve lost my mind (there was so little to lose) and I did admit to frequently being mistaken. I don’t know how I got Havens and Cocker mixed up, so I’m going with “Hey, I’m OLD!” Regardless, the documentary confirms your correction so you have proof in pictures and sound and color that Idle Mind is accurately named. Apologies all around.

I have an hour by hour listing of all the singers and bands who performed over the three days. It is an amazing list.
