“Where to look if you’ve lost your mind?”

I had perfectly planned my morning. First was the ATM for money as I had none. Next was the post office, but it wasn’t open yet so I moved to my net stop: the farmers market. With basket in hand, I stopped at a produce table and decided to buy blueberries to make a pie. When I went to pay, I found my checkbook wasn’t there. I checked my car: no checkbook. I went back to the post office hoping to find my checkbook. I didn’t, but at least I did mail my cards and packages. My next stop was the bank where I spent over an hour closing my checking account then opening another. I got a new ATM card. I was out the $50.00 from the ATM. With my proverbial tail between my legs I went home. I checked the car one more time and found the checkbook wedged beside the seat in a spot I missed as it just didn’t seem probable. I now need to spend a good deal of time changing accounts like the electric to my new checking account. In between I am going to scream!!!

I am giving Coffee a break today as I absolutely need to complete th changeover!! I feel like and idiot!!

I’m so sorry! I’ve been close to do almost the same thing but unlike You I found what I thought I lost before I did anything.

    See You tomorrow!

I thought I had looked everywhere, but I hadn’t. That’s the worse part of it all. Also, the guy at the bank kept repeating the same things over and over and driving me crazy.

I feel better tonight but I still have a couple of accounts to change.

      Have a great evening!

    Hi Kat,

When it rains it pours. 🙁 I never carry my checkbook and I pay everything on one credit card that gives us points without an annual fee. Go electronic everywhere and carry a small amount of cash for those bozo businesses that won’t go electronic. Even the CVS drugstore takes Apple Pay directly from my phone to the credit card. Nothing is more annoying then to be in the grocery checkout line and some, usually old person, is going to write a check. Sometimes they won’t even begin to fill out the check until all their groceries are checked out. 🙁 An old person is someone ten years older than me. 🙂

    Good luck getting everything switched.

    Weather today same as yesterday.

      Hi Bob,
I have accounts which I pay with a check as there is no other option. A couple of doctors are an example. My cleaning couple is another as is my factotum. What I can pay on line, I do.

Only two accounts left and for those I have to wait until Monday. The rest went quickly.

Today was a pretty day, hot but pretty.

Over here there are some stores and shops who refuse to take cash or checks, only thing they accept is plastic cards.

I don’t think there are stores here like that. There are actually a few which don’t take credit cards.

    Hi Kat,
I haven’t done that but I did go through all the rigamarole to get a replacement Social Security Card after I lost mine. Right after I received the new one, I found the old one. Many years later I lost the replacement card and had to get a new new one. I could do it online and it was so much easier.
A few days ago I was thinking about going to the library and asking for a new library card because I lost my old one. Yesterday, I was cleaning out an old pocketbook and there was my old library card. It’s so old it probably no longer works.
I would say enjoy the day but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to go that way. Do the best you can. 🙂

      Hi Caryn,
I lost another ATM card in the car. I never did find that one. I had it in my hand then somehow it flew out of my hand at Dunkin Donuts. I just went to the bank and got another, took maybe ten minutes.

I have my library card, but the librarian knows me so I never have to take it out. I was going to go to the library today, but I just couldn’t do another stop after the bank; luckily, I bought a couple of books which came yesterday.

I took a nap and feel better. I’m still an idiot!

      Have a great evening!
