Pete Seeger quote

I like the title quote.
We have different trash cans for compostable stuff (green), non-toxic household garbage (gray), plastic and packing material (yellow), paper (blue) plus community containers and collecting points for glass, toxics, electrical garbage and more.
And then a large part of all this separated trash will be just mixed and burned or shipped around the world because unecological behavior is unfortunately still cheaper than recycling 🙁

Birgit,
My dump has bins for most of what you recycle except the compostable stuff. There is also a separate one for cardboard. I save it all here then haul it to the dump. We don’t have trash pick-up unless we pay a private firm.
I know there is a computer parts dump in Ghana where kids sift through looking for pieces they can sell.

Is this photo from WWII when scrap drives were popular for the war effort.

Yes, I think it was from a site of WWII and the Homefront.
