“A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.”

Yesterday was so lovely my friends and I had dinner on their deck. It was a summer dinner of hot dogs, watermelon and fresh corn. We played Phase 10, but toward the end of the game, the cold wind arrived. We were done. Summer was over.

Last night thunder rumbled then the rain came, a heavy rain at first then just a constant rain of smaller drops. When I fell asleep, it was still raining, but this morning is beautiful though chilly, in the low 60’s.

I have three stops today. I still have to get my dump sticker, the car needs to be inspected and I have PT for my arm.

The only items on my to do list are the dump and then Agway to buy flowers and herbs. The heading on the list is Friday.

When I was in Ghana, an occasional evening treat was a Coke and a Cadbury candy bar. The DPW near my house had a store. It was one of the few places with cold Coke. My favorite Cadbury was the Fruit & Nut Milk Chocolate Bar. I still buy one every now and then just for the memory.

My memory drawers are loaded. I don’t know why some events and people become memories and get saved while others never do and are forgotten as soon as they happen. I remember the plane ride to Ghana. It was a TWA charter. I sat toward the back by the window. I remember we flew over the Cape. When the plane stopped in Madrid to refuel and change the crew, we got out to stretch. I remember the airport. I also remember getting back into my seat and finding the seat belt caught somewhere. I didn’t use it again. I remember looking out and seeing the Sahara. I also remember my first view of Ghana from the window, and I remember landing. I have a mental picture of my first dinner during training at Winneba. The plate was white. The food was mostly green and white. I didn’t eat it.

Each one of those memories is a snapshot, a colorful, vibrant snapshot which doesn’t seem to fade over time so I get to visit those memories over and over. I never tire of seeing them.

It has been nasty hot here today, 86F and it isn’t especially nice while having a cold. Well to be honest I don’t think it is nice even without a cold 🙂 🙂 They say it will stay much the same for the coming ten days. I do wonder how hot it was at work today 🙂 🙂 🙂

One of my favorite chocolate bars (but from another brand) is actually milk chocolate Fruit & Nuts 🙂 🙂

    Have a great day!

It is a cool day here, around 60˚. There is also a fairly strong breeze. We’ll have a nice day tomorrow then rain Saturday into Sunday. It is a long weekend as Monday is a holiday so the cape will get crowded. That begins the summer in it own way.

I like the combo of fruits and nuts. Both compliment the chocolate. I have to admit I just love any sort of chocolate.

      Stay cool!!

I couldn’t get my favorite chocolate bar for about 2 weeks now, coffee-cream chocolate, I hope I’ll survive 🙂
(Sorry, less comments lately, I’m still reading KTCC. Busy times…)

My two favorite bars were part of a sale of the whole company, the Necco Company. It was sold yesterday to a company which doesn’t make chocolate. The Necco Wafers are safe but I suspect Clark Bar and Sky Bar are soon to disappear. I bought boxes of each of them, and I noticed they are now on sale at E-Bay for big prices. I paid around $25, and they are being sold for $89.00. I could make some big money.

That you’re reading it is enough!

    Hi Kat,
I love Cadbury Fruit and Nut bars. They are not so good now that Hersey makes them but they are still good. Chocolate, fruit, nuts. How can they not be? 🙂

Tomorrow is meat delivery and trash day. That means that today is clean out the fridge day in case there are overlooked science experiments lurking. I do this every Thursday and still manage to miss something that I don’t find until right after the trash truck has left the street.

Today was lovely spring weather. Cool, breezy, sunny with passing clouds.

    Enjoy the day.

      Hi Caryn,
I so agree. The combination of those nuts and fruit make the chocolate even tastier as if it needed help.

I am going to the dump tomorrow and will also scour the fridge first. I did get my dump sticker at $152.00. I asked why the $2.00 and no one had an answer.

The weather was the same here.

      Have a great evening!
