That video is by (Bud) Flanagan & (Chesney) Allen – part of The Crazy Gang which was formed in the 1930’s. They mostly performed songs and comedy on stage, but also did a few films in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s. Bud Flanagan’s last recording was the theme for a very popular British sitcom “Dad’s Army”. It was called “Who Do You Think You Are Kidding, Mr Hitler?” and is similar to the World War II songs he and Chesney Allen recorded

“Hello Playmates” …I think it’s Arthur Askey, but there were a lot of versions…”I thank you”

MDH,
This was not labeled but another copy did have Arthur Askey so I figured he is the singer here.
You are most welcome!

I believe that the music in the video is by Flanagan & Allen (1939). The version by Arthur Askey is also from 1939 but a little different.

Thank you, Mark. I’ll have to hunt down another Askey and compare it with the posted song.

Thanks, Lynchie. I tried to find out more but didn’t. I listened to two versions, and both sounded the same to me which is how the label came to be.
I did look for a Jimmy Kennedy version but couldn’t find one.
Great song and great video.
