This photo and your post reminded me of Heidi Hetzer, a 78-year-old former mechanic, automobile dealer and rally driver from Berlin. She is driving around the world in a 1930 Hudson for nearly 2 years now and currently she’s in South America. I can’t find a decent video in English but the first minutes of this one may give you an impression:

I enjoyed reading the wikipedia description. I had seen the writing on the Rover so I knew it was some sort of expedition so I was glad the gaps got filled. The picture I enjoy most was the one of the supplies laid out in front of the vehicles.
I would truly enjoy something similar.
